Where are you located? |
| |
Our home office is located in Oshawa, Ontario. As it is our
home and we have irregular work hours, all meetings with us
are by appointment only please. |
 |
How long have you been doing photography? |
| |
We are a husband and wife team, we have been doing photography
together (including weddings) since 2001. We did freelance photography
work in northern Ontario before moving to the Oshawa area when
we officially established our company “Amy’s Photography
and Digital Imaging” in 2003. We are continually learning
and increasing our skills, and we have developed proficiency
in photo editing, design & layout, and other digital services.
We have always had outstanding feedback from clients and are
recognized in our community for our quality, experience, and
professional conduct. |
 |
What's your basic approach to photography?
|
| |
We like to take photographs of people in a comfortable and
suitable setting for them. For example, we feel that the best
children's photos are captured when the child is playing and
having fun. We usually take a mixture of planned and candid
photos that are very natural. Our goal is to take LOTS of pictures
so you will have an abundant variety of great photographs. |
 |
Do you have a studio? |
| |
No, we specialize in on-location photography. Outside in your
backyard or a nearby park is a great location choice, since
natural sunlight is often the best. Indoors, your home is also
a good option. We have professional flash units that are small,
portable, and cordless, so they can provide lighting in any
interior space. |

Is Digital better than medium format film? |
| |
In our opinion, yes it is. I used film exclusively through
my college training and I would never have switched to Digital
unless I felt the quality was just as good. The people that
still say, "film produces better quality" have probably
never used a really good high-resolution digital SLR camera
before. For the types of photography we do, film is just too
slow and you can miss lots of candid photo opportunities. With
digital we can see the shot immediately, make camera adjustments
on the fly, and take hundreds of photos before having to "reload"
with a fresh memory card. Using digital you also have many editing
options after the photos are taken, but film has extremely limited
possibilities. If you still have any concern about the print
quality, make a consultation appointment with us, and we will
gladly impress you with our printed samples. |
